Guidewire Embeds AI Assistant Directly Into Insurance Operations
Guidewire Software has launched ProNavigator, an AI assistant built into its core insurance platforms, allowing underwriters, claims adjusters, and billing specialists to access data without switching applications. The tool rolls out in the company's Palisades release across InsuranceSuite and InsuranceNow.
ProNavigator grounds its responses in each insurer's own source materials and provides direct citations. This approach prioritizes accuracy in decisions that affect coverage and claims.
How It Works
The system uses role-based access controls and audit trails to restrict sensitive documents to authorized staff. Guidewire maintains human oversight in all decisions, meaning the AI surfaces information and recommendations but doesn't act independently.
Unlike experimental AI pilots, ProNavigator is designed for production use immediately. Insurers can move from testing to full deployment without extended development cycles.
What Else Is in the Release
The Palisades update includes several other operational additions:
- Jutro Developer Assistant for building digital customer experiences
- Enhanced funds tracking for financial reconciliation
- Updated claims workflows for London Market underwriting
- Integrated pricing tools in PolicyCenter for global underwriting teams
Guidewire's PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter platforms handle core operations for insurance companies worldwide. The company serves Property & Casualty insurers primarily.
For professionals managing claims, underwriting, or billing processes, AI agents and automation tools like this represent a shift toward embedding assistance directly into daily workflows rather than requiring separate systems.
