HeadBox launches AI events platform in New Zealand
HeadBox, a global events platform, went live in Auckland on May 4 with over 120 venue listings and AI-powered planning tools. The launch marks the company's entry into New Zealand's business events market, which generated $925 million in economic value during 2025.
Ali Lord, HeadBox's Chief Executive for Australia and New Zealand, said the platform addresses gaps in how corporate teams manage events. The service combines venue booking, planning, and execution tools in one interface.
What the platform offers
HeadBox includes a 3D Studio feature that lets planners inspect venues virtually, cutting travel time and carbon emissions associated with site visits. The platform also tracks event spending in real time, helping finance and procurement teams manage budgets and meet Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting requirements.
AI capabilities assist with brainstorming and planning stages. Lord emphasized that AI complements rather than replaces human judgment in event management.
Major New Zealand venues now accessible through the platform include the New Zealand International Convention Centre and QT Auckland, giving corporate planners global exposure to local options.
Market context
The launch reflects how companies are turning to third-party platforms to manage events as economic pressures mount. HeadBox positions itself as an extension of in-house event teams rather than a replacement.
