Heirs Insurance launches multi-language AI assistant for policy inquiries
Heirs Insurance Group has deployed Prince AI, a generative AI chatbot that answers customer questions in nine languages, including English, Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa. The company said it is Nigeria's first insurer to offer a multi-language AI assistant.
The chatbot handles routine tasks: customers can purchase policies, renew coverage, and track claims through WhatsApp, the SimpleLife Mobile App, or the company website. It also explains coverage options and helps customers identify suitable policies.
Chief Digital Officer Peace Okhianmhense-Philips said the tool removes language barriers that prevent customers from accessing insurance services. The assistant supports English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Chinese.
How it works
Prince AI uses what the company calls "adaptive intelligence" - the system improves through customer interactions. When customers need personalized guidance, human representatives remain available.
The launch coincides with Heirs Insurance's fifth anniversary. The group operates across 24 countries and four continents as the insurance arm of Heirs Holdings.
What this means for insurance professionals
AI for Customer Support tools like this shift operational priorities. Claims teams may handle more complex cases while routine inquiries route to the chatbot. Policy advisors may spend less time on basic coverage questions and more on client strategy.
The multi-language capability addresses a specific market gap in Nigeria's insurance sector, where language diversity affects policy uptake. For professionals managing customer engagement or claims operations, this signals where the industry is moving.
