Helport AI says its AI Labor model is now handling live customer operations for consumer hardware brands across North America and Europe, with revenue-generating deployments underway in a second industry vertical. The company, which previously focused on consumer finance, is targeting the operational economics of traditional call centers: decoupling service volume growth from proportional headcount increases.

In the traditional model, a product launch into a new market means recruiting, training, and monitoring a fresh customer service team. Helport AI is instead deploying AI as direct labor capacity - a model it calls AI Labor - where software handles routine interactions and human staff concentrate on exceptions. The company announced the expanded deployments in a statement on Tuesday.

How AI Labor is structured

Helport AI's operating model, called AI+BPO, combines three layers. A Unified Communication Platform connects interactions across chat, email, and voice into one environment. An AI Labor System applies trained workflows to understand requests and complete eligible customer interactions. Human specialists monitor operations and manage escalations that need judgment.

The distinction, according to the company, is that it is deploying AI as direct service capacity. AI is not just a software tool to help customer service agents work faster - the AI itself is the service worker handling first contact. This matters for outsourcing economics: in a conventional BPO operation, substantially higher customer volume requires more staffing. Under Helport AI's model, incremental volume is absorbed first by AI capacity, with human headcount growing more slowly than the business volume it supports.

The scale of the new deployments is small. Helport AI entered the consumer hardware vertical through a partnership with QuickCEP in April 2026, and it provides overseas contact center and AI technical services to Dreame Technology, a robot vacuum maker that ranked No. 1 globally in robot vacuum sales volume and revenue in Q1 2026, according to IDC data cited by the company. A renewable energy and other hardware brands - Birdfy, a smart bird feeder camera brand, a robotic pool cleaner brand, and an at-home beauty device brand - are also in the category, though two of those engagements are under confidentiality.

Why connected hardware suits AI Labor

Connected consumer hardware creates a useful test case for the AI labor model, Helport AI argues. First, after-sales interactions - setup, connectivity, troubleshooting, warranty, returns - repeat much more than unique. Repetition means trained AI workflows can resolve meaningful share of contacts. Good for the consumer.

Second, about seasonality. Spike-prone demand: Prime Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and big product launches create volume spikes. A traditional staffing model must prepare for those peaks by inviting and hiring temporary staff. Often those people are only needed for a few weeks.
