HTEC Appoints SourceCode as PR Agency of Record for US and UK

HTEC, known for its AI-driven services and software, has chosen SourceCode Communications as its public relations and communications agency of record. This partnership covers both the United States and the United Kingdom, aiming to deliver a comprehensive communications strategy that blends earned media, owned content, social media, and strategic amplification.

Leading the account is SourceCode EVP Giles Peddy, supported by a team of approximately 11 professionals across the two countries. Key figures include U.K. directors like Ruvina Uppal and Meghan Matheny, VP of Enterprise, who oversees the U.S. efforts. The agency was approached by HTEC's chief marketing officer Alex Rumble, a former client, earlier this year and secured the account in April.

Strategic Focus on Brand Visibility and AI Positioning

According to Peddy, HTEC has experienced significant success but lacked visibility in the market. With Rumble joining the company in January to lead rebranding and repositioning, the objective is clear: increase brand awareness through a mix of earned and owned media, complemented by paid events and other amplification methods.

SourceCode will provide strategic media relations, executive communication, and creative support to highlight HTEC as an AI-first company. This approach aligns with growing demand from major organizations for advanced, engineered software solutions. The agency’s role is to strengthen HTEC’s thought leadership, enhance its global profile, and deepen engagement with target audiences in key markets.

SourceCode’s Growing Presence and Client Portfolio

SourceCode Communications operates from offices in London, New York City, and, as of early 2024, San Francisco. The West Coast expansion came with the appointment of Tim Scarfe to lead that office. Currently, HTEC is not working with other PR agencies in additional regions, focusing its budget on the U.S. and U.K. markets. Future PR expansion may follow as HTEC grows internationally.

Since opening its U.K. office in 2023 under Peddy’s leadership, SourceCode has expanded its client base across the U.S., U.K., continental Europe, and APAC, leveraging a global network of agencies. While budget specifics were not disclosed, the team size working on HTEC’s account indicates a substantial engagement.
