IFS, the global leader in Industrial AI, and Chelsea Football Club have signed a multi-year agreement to embed IFS's technology across the club's operations. The rollout, beginning with finance and procurement, will later extend to asset management and facility operations, making Chelsea one of the first Premier League clubs to adopt industrial AI at this scale.
Initial Deployment: Finance and Procurement
The first phase gives Chelsea real-time visibility into its finance operations and automates manual processes. An end-to-end procurement system will handle supplier onboarding, contract management, and spend visibility. This replaces fragmented workflows with a single, guided platform.
From Turbines to Turnstiles: Industrial AI at Scale
IFS already manages $2.4 trillion in critical assets for customers in energy, manufacturing, and aerospace. The same AI that predicts turbine maintenance and keeps factories online will now underpin Chelsea's stadium operations, training ground facilities, and back-office functions. The phased rollout aims to turn the club into one of the most operationally advanced in world football.
Mark Moffat, Chief Executive Officer at IFS, said: "Chelsea FC operates in a world where performance, precision, and pressure are non-negotiable. That's exactly the kind of environment where IFS Industrial AI thrives and delivers. This partnership will demonstrate to the world what's possible when elite ambition meets industrial-grade AI."
Adriel Lares, Chief Financial Officer at Chelsea Football Club, said: "Advanced technology is transforming the way businesses operate and we are excited to be moving into the next phase of our partnership with IFS to realise the opportunities AI software presents."
Why This Matters for Operations Professionals
The Chelsea deal signals that industrial AI is moving beyond heavy industry into high-performance sport. For operations managers, it's a practical case study in automating finance, procurement, and asset management at scale. The same principles-real-time visibility, standardized processes, predictive maintenance-apply to any organization.
