Infosys BPM Launches Autonomous AI Agents for Invoice Processing

Infosys BPM has introduced AI agents within its Infosys Accounts Payable on Cloud solution to automate invoice processing. This new approach shifts from a human-driven, AI-supported model to an autonomous AI-first system, improving both speed and accuracy in finance operations.

The AI agents operate independently, equipped with advanced decision-making abilities to manage complex business scenarios efficiently. They handle end-to-end workflow management by adapting to changing business rules and executing intricate tasks with minimal human intervention. This automation is designed to enhance operational efficiency and allow businesses to scale their financial processes effectively.

Technology and Collaboration

The solution integrates Microsoft’s AI stack, including Azure AI Foundry and other large language models, combined with Infosys’s custom AI agents. Leveraging Azure’s Cognitive Services and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings, it delivers scalable and enterprise-ready AI capabilities.

This development involved close collaboration with Americana Restaurants, a leading quick service and dining company operating over 2,600 restaurants across the Middle East, North Africa, and Kazakhstan. Following a successful initial deployment of the Accounts Payable on Cloud solution, Infosys BPM is now enhancing it with Agentic AI to further reduce manual tasks and improve accuracy.
