Insilico Medicine and Human Longevity Build AI Foundation Model for Aging Research
Insilico Medicine and Human Life Foundation Models announced a multi-million-dollar collaboration to develop the first large-scale AI foundation model dedicated to longevity science. The partnership aims to advance early detection of age-related diseases and accelerate discovery of preventive treatments.
Insilico will contribute its expertise in multimodal foundation model development and deep learning system engineering. Human Life Foundation Models will integrate those tools with Human Longevity's de-identified datasets spanning multi-omics, imaging, and longitudinal health records from thousands of individuals collected over a decade.
The combined model is expected to detect disease risks earlier and identify novel therapeutic targets. Both companies expect the foundation models to be commercially available and shift healthcare from reactive treatment toward preventive approaches.
Market Context
The global longevity market is valued at approximately $5.3 trillion and projected to reach $8 trillion by 2030, according to UBS analysis. AI-driven drug discovery has become central to aging research by modeling aging biology and predicting disease risk.
Technical Approach
Insilico will provide model architecture, benchmarking, training guidelines, and computational algorithms. Human Life Foundation Models will use these to train advanced multimodal AI models on Human Longevity's biological datasets, enabling the system to detect and manage patient conditions with clinical-grade precision.
The work builds on Insilico's MMAI Gym framework, which provides advanced training and evaluation capabilities for foundation models.
Background
Insilico Medicine, a clinical-stage AI-driven biotechnology company, has published over 50 research papers on aging and longevity since 2014. The company recently established an industry longevity board chaired by Andrew Adams, Group Vice President of Molecular Discovery at Eli Lilly and Company.
Human Longevity was founded on the premise that large-scale biological data combined with AI would transform medicine. The company has spent over a decade curating one of the world's most comprehensive integrated datasets for health research.
