InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy are merging to create what they describe as India's largest AI-enabled insurance distribution platform by premium generated through point-of-sales persons. The combined entity will hold more than Rs 6,600 crore in premium and over 600,000 digital partners, based on data as of March 31, 2026.
The two companies have issued more than 20 million insurance policies since inception. The business will operate under the InsuranceDekho brand, with founder and CEO Ankit Agrawal leading the combined organization. Founders from both companies will remain with the business.
The geographic and product fit
The transaction pairs InsuranceDekho's established presence in northern and western India with RenewBuy's network across southern markets. Together, the platform reaches 98.57% of India's postal codes. The combined distribution network will carry products from multiple insurers spanning motor, health, life, and commercial lines.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The consolidation arrives as insurers and distributors lean on technology and wider partner networks to push penetration beyond India's major cities.
Where AI fits into the integration
InsuranceDekho has built in-house AI tools that give partners real-time insurance-plan recommendations. The company said folding these capabilities together with RenewBuy's technology platform will strengthen its distribution infrastructure. The combined business plans to integrate digital onboarding, policy issuance, and AI-based advisory tools while automating parts of the process for its partner network.
For insurance professionals watching how AI for Insurance moves from pilots into production, this deal is a concrete example of consolidation around distribution technology. The emphasis on AI Agents & Automation in onboarding and advisory workflows signals where operational investment is heading.
Why this matters for insurance professionals
Point-of-sales distribution remains the backbone of insurance sales outside India's metros, and this merger concentrates significant scale under one technology roadmap. If you work in distribution, product, or technology roles, expect the combined entity to push harder on automated onboarding and AI-driven plan recommendations as standard tools for partners. That raises the bar for how quickly agents and POSPs can quote, compare, and issue policies - and it puts pressure on competing distributors to match that speed.
