Intel Partners with India to Advance AI Education and Innovation

Intel Corporation has teamed up with the IndiaAI Mission, an initiative led by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across the country. This partnership focuses on equipping students, startups, and government officials with essential AI skills, fostering growth in education and innovation sectors.

Building AI Talent from Schools to Startups

Intel’s role includes nurturing AI talent in schools and colleges, providing mentorship, and supplying technological resources to early-stage AI ventures. A key part of the collaboration is introducing AI-powered personal computers into classrooms. This move aims to increase access to India’s multilingual AI platforms, promote AI literacy, and support the integration of AI in public services.

This initiative complements the Indian government’s March 2024 announcement of a ₹10,000 crore (around $1.24 billion) investment to boost the nation’s AI infrastructure and entrepreneurship. The IndiaAI Mission operates through a public-private partnership, focusing on creating advanced computing facilities and improving startup access to capital.

Additionally, MSDE and Microsoft have introduced the ‘AI Careers for Women’ initiative. This program targets female students, helping them gain skills to enter the AI workforce, supporting gender inclusivity in technology education.
