Legal Week NYC buzz: Legal Innovators breakfast expands, Spellbook x Google live, plus updates from Harvey, LegalOn, and Wordsmith

At Legal Week: expanded Innovators breakfast, Spellbook Live with Google, plus a 2026 slate in SF, Paris, London, and NYC. Expect real use cases and stats-backed AI.

Date: 6 March 2026

If you're coming to Legal Week in New York, the Legal Innovators breakfast on Tuesday, March 10 has expanded due to demand. Join the Artificial Lawyer and Cosmonauts teams at Altair restaurant from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Expect practical conversations on AI, CLM, and what's actually working in practice.

RSVP required. Space is now available, but it goes fast.

Each event runs across two days: one day for law firms, one day for in-house. Two priorities drive the program - real use cases and measurable outcomes. You'll hear from leading practitioners, operations leaders, and legal tech companies moving the needle for delivery and risk.

June 2026

  • Legal Innovators California - June 10-11, San Francisco
  • Legal Innovators Europe - June 24-25, Paris

November 2026

Speaker interest (law firm and in-house) - contact Phoebe at Cosmonauts: phoebe@cosmonauts.biz. Legal tech companies - contact Robins: robins@cosmonauts.biz.

Legal Innovators California (San Francisco, June 10-11): The West Coast event in the heart of the Bay Area. Expect deep product sessions and frank case studies from teams working with AI in production. Tickets and details available via the organiser.

Session: The Moneyball Moment for Contracts: Data-Driven Negotiation with AI
When: Tuesday, March 10, 2026 - 15:30-16:30
Where: Room 409

Lawyers are tired of generic AI text and unsubstantiated redlines. This session explores "market grounding" - using market data to generate redline suggestions backed by statistics you can cite and inspect. The goal: fewer opinion battles, more objective leverage at the clause level.

  • Amy Grubb, Legal Solutions Architect - Spellbook
  • Scott Stevenson, CEO & Co-Founder - Spellbook
  • Darryl Chiang, Director, Legal - Google LLC

AL TV: New Videos

Candid conversations now live on AL TV (2026): sessions featuring Harvey, LegalOn, and a fast-paced Law Punx segment with Wordsmith's Ross McNairn.

What This Means for Your Team

Three shifts are sticking: market-grounded negotiation, transparent AI validation, and agentic workflows supervised by attorneys. If you lead legal or ops, push vendors for explainability, data lineage, and measurable impact on cycle time and risk.

If your team is building skills around these tools, explore AI for Legal and the AI Learning Path for Paralegals for practical, human-in-the-loop workflows and contract review tactics.

It's a packed week of sessions and meetings, so news coverage may be lighter during the event. Regular updates resume after New York. If you're in town, join the breakfast and the Spellbook session - and bring the questions your clients actually care about.
