Lighthouse has launched Ernest, an AI assistant designed to serve as a working member of hotel commercial teams, bridging general-purpose AI models with the specific data, systems, and decisions at the core of each property's strategy. The tool enters beta today for select customers, with global availability expanding through the remainder of 2026.
Commercial teams across the hospitality industry face a common bottleneck: they have plenty of dashboards and systems, but siloed data and repetitive analysis slow them down. Ernest is a conversational interface that pulls data from a hotel's existing platforms - including PMS, CRS, and direct booking channels - and delivers cross-platform intelligence without requiring teams to switch between tools.
What Ernest does for commercial teams
According to Juanjo Rodríguez, Chief AI Officer at Lighthouse, Ernest handles three core functions. "He delivers cross-platform intelligence, focuses the team by recommending the next move and takes action based on the guardrails you set. And the more your team works with Ernest, the sharper each interaction becomes," Rodríguez said. The assistant draws on Lighthouse data as well as third-party systems, linking every answer back to the underlying source so teams can verify exactly where information came from.
Each morning, teams working alongside Ernest start with competitive and performance analysis, demand signals, and management presentations already prepared. The tool normalizes signals across data sources, models scenarios, and surfaces revenue opportunities that busy teams might otherwise miss. Over time, Ernest learns from the decisions a team prefers for a specific property or portfolio, refining its recommendations based on real-world results.
"Today's AI models are some of the most powerful systems ever created, but they're generalists. They don't understand your property, your market or your core systems," said Sean Fitzpatrick, CEO of Lighthouse. "That last mile, the bridge between a general AI model and a hospitality-specific outcome, is where Lighthouse now lives." The launch reflects broader interest in specialized AI for Hospitality & Events that works within the systems teams already use rather than adding another standalone dashboard.
Moving from analysis to action
Ernest functions as a system of action, not just an analytics layer. With user approval and within configured guardrails, the assistant can automate tasks across a hotel's technology stack through more than 500 integrations. Every action is tracked and explainable, which means teams can move faster without surrendering control over decisions. Routines such as reports, alerts, or branded management decks can run automatically and land in email, Slack, or Teams.
For commercial leaders evaluating where to integrate AI for Management, Ernest signals a shift toward tools that combine analysis with workflow automation in a single system. Fitzpatrick described the broader goal: "By removing the friction for commercial teams, Ernest gives people their time back for strategy and real hospitality. Our goal is to make hospitality human again."
Rollout and next steps
Ernest works at the user, property, or portfolio level, with enterprise controls built in to keep organizational data private. Lighthouse will preview the assistant at the HSMAI Commercial Strategy Conference in San Antonio, running June 16-17. Beta access is available now for select customers, with wider availability following through the end of 2026.
Why this matters for management
For hotel commercial directors and revenue managers, Ernest addresses a practical problem: the gap between having data and acting on it fast enough to capture revenue. By automating the morning analysis routine - competitor checks, demand signals, presentation decks - the tool shifts a team's first hour from manual number-crunching to decision-making. The 500-plus integrations mean managers do not have to rip out existing systems to get started, and every recommendation comes with a visible data trail. In an industry where pricing decisions have immediate revenue impact, faster, auditable recommendations give management a measurable edge over teams still assembling reports by hand.
