Medivex launched a HIPAA-compliant AI agent platform on Tuesday that automates front and back office work for healthcare practices, pairing ALIENTELLIGENCE's Quantum Kai intelligence with 300+ healthcare integrations. The platform lets staff describe a task in plain English-chase the intake packet, verify coverage before the visit, work the no-show list-and the system builds and runs it across the practice's existing EHR and tools.
The company's pitch is about economics. "Every practice I've walked into is losing money to work nobody wants to do," said Bo Gregorix (Greg), co-founder of Medivex. "The call that rang out at lunch. The eligibility check done the morning of, when it's too late to fix anything. The no-show list somebody gets to on Friday. None of that is clinical work, and all of it costs you visits. We built Medivex to absorb it."
Medivex launched with tuned configurations for mental health and behavioral practices, dental practices and DSOs, and med spas. Plans start at $300 per month, metered on workflow runs and AI credits, with unlimited users at every tier. Annual billing is discounted roughly 33 percent.
Bounded by design, not by policy
Medivex agents are scope-locked by construction. They reach only the connectors, actions, and fields a practice grants; connectors stay read-only until write access is explicitly enabled; escalation rules evaluate before any other instruction; and sensitive actions can require human sign-off. Every agent action is attributed, timestamped, and replayable.
The company draws a hard line at clinical work. Agents answer, book, confirm, and chase paperwork-they never diagnose, never assess urgency, and never clear a patient for a procedure.
"An agent with unbounded access to patient data isn't a teammate, it's a liability," said Greg. "Capability is not permission. Kai is extraordinarily capable, and inside Medivex it is deliberately fenced. The practice decides what it can touch, and the log proves what it did."
Why a BAA on every plan matters
Medivex runs on HIPAA-compliant, SOC 2 Type II infrastructure with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.2+ in transit. A standard Business Associate Agreement is included self-serve on every paid plan-including the entry tier-with no sales call required. Patient data is never used to train any model, and AI calls operate with zero data retention.
The positioning targets a known gap: general-purpose automation tools widely used in medical offices typically will not sign a BAA, making patient data flowing through them a compliance risk regardless of how well they're deployed. "Compliance shouldn't be an enterprise feature you graduate into," Greg said. "A solo practitioner handles the same PHI the hospital system does. They get the same BAA from us on day one."
Staff can also connect platforms they already use-ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor-through Medivex MCP (beta), a security layer that lets AI clients read and act on healthcare systems through allowlisted tools without handling credentials.
Integration depth and vertical guardrails
Medivex connects to 30+ EHRs and systems across scheduling, intake, labs, billing, payments, and communications-through official APIs only, with no screen scraping. Anything else with an API is reachable through a universal HTTP connector. Medivex is not an EHR and replaces nothing a practice already runs.
The healthcare sector is where many professionals are first encountering how agentic AI platforms actually operate when regulated properly.
