Microsoft has confirmed customers will be able to run AI and cloud workloads from its new Saudi Arabia East Azure region in Q4 2026. It's a clear milestone for Vision 2030 and a practical win for teams that need in-country deployment, low latency, and data sovereignty.

Microsoft's plans have been developed with Saudi stakeholders, including an announced intent with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Site to explore sovereign cloud services aligned with local regulation. Government and regulatory teams have toured the facility site, with a focus on security, compliance, and responsible AI frameworks.
