MIT Sloan Expands AI Education for Executives
MIT Sloan Executive Education is expanding its AI course offerings with new programs designed to help business leaders move from understanding AI to implementing it across their organizations. The school announced enrollment in four new courses and a new Advanced Certificate for Executives in AI and Digital Business.
The four new courses are: Agentic AI: Business Implications and Applications; AI Risk and Readiness: From Governance to Growth; Implementing Agentic AI: Building Your Organizational Playbook; and AI Adoption: Driving Business Value and Impact.
The school also offers a 10-day in-person AI Executive Academy developed with MIT's Schwarzman College of Computing. The program covers machine learning, natural language processing, AI workflows, business strategy, and ethics.
What Leaders Actually Need
Peter Hirst, Senior Associate Dean for Executive Education at MIT Sloan, said the demand for AI training reflects where organizations stand. "Organizations are at very different stages, but across the board, leaders are looking for guidance on how to move from awareness to action," Hirst said.
The programs are not designed to turn executives into technical specialists. Instead, they focus on helping leaders understand what's changing in their business and make decisions with confidence.
MIT Sloan's executive education portfolio includes more than 90 short courses, online programs, certificates, and custom organizational training. The offerings span flexible formats-from on-demand sprints to multi-week in-person programs-to accommodate different schedules and learning needs.
MIT ranked first globally in Data Science and AI in the 2026 QS World University Rankings, alongside top placements in 11 other disciplines.
For professionals looking to build AI expertise, resources on AI for Executives & Strategy and Generative AI and LLM applications can complement formal training programs.
