Most Venue Professionals Believe AI Will Transform Their Industry. Few Have Actually Used It.

Sixty-four percent of venue and event professionals think AI will reshape their industry, according to a new report from Momentus Technologies. Only 7% have implemented it in any meaningful way.

The gap between conviction and action reveals the real problem: not skepticism, but a lack of tools built for how venues actually work. Momentus surveyed leaders across stadiums, performing arts centers, convention centers, and corporate venues in more than 20 countries.

Where AI Is Being Used Today

Current AI adoption is limited to foundational tasks. Search, data entry, and content creation dominate. High-impact workflows-staffing, scheduling, event planning, sales analysis, and forecasting-remain largely untapped.

The barriers are specific. Fifty-two percent of respondents said existing AI tools lack venue-specific knowledge. Forty-eight percent cited the absence of real-time operational awareness as critical.

What Venue Teams Actually Need

Cross-team coordination topped the list of operational priorities for more than 70% of respondents. A single booking change ripples across facilities, audiovisual, catering, and staffing. Current technology doesn't manage these dependencies in real time.

Seventy-five percent want AI to reduce data entry and administrative work. Sixty-six percent prefer a human-led, AI-supported model rather than full automation.

"The industry believes in AI, but belief without the ability to take action doesn't fill dark days or reduce the administrative burden consuming venue and events teams," said Alex Alexandrov, CEO of Momentus Technologies.

What's Coming

Momentus has released AskMo, Smart Imports, and Momentus Analytics. The company plans to launch AI for Sales in Q3 2026, followed by AI for Events and AI for Finance.

Sales teams spend roughly 70% of their week on administrative work. The new AI for Sales tool aims to reclaim that time so teams can focus on relationships and closing business.
