Most workplace ethics codes remain silent on deployed AI

The Work Futures Report finds that most workplace ethics codes do not yet address the use of deployed artificial intelligence. As AI tools spread through daily operations, the formal rules and governance expectations that guide employee conduct have not kept pace with the speed of adoption.

The report argues that human resources and management teams should act now to define acceptable use, establish clear escalation paths, and set employee protections. Without deliberate updates, informal practices risk hardening into embedded norms that are harder to revise later.
