Nova Post deploys AI to conduct initial job interviews across 16 EU countries
Nova Post, the logistics subsidiary of Nova Group, has automated the first stage of its hiring process across Europe. AI agents now conduct initial interviews in all 16 EU countries where the company operates.
The move is part of a broader AI Agents & Automation strategy. Rather than build custom language models, Nova Post purchased existing AI solutions and deployed them to handle routine work. The company aims to transfer 100% of repetitive tasks to AI agents, focusing on areas that consume the most employee hours.
How the recruitment AI works
The AI agents conduct interviews in all European languages, removing time and geography constraints. Candidates can interview at any hour-evenings, weekends-without waiting for human availability. The company reports that candidates felt more relaxed speaking with the bot. Only one candidate refused to engage with the system.
Daniil Maltsev, Nova Post's AI director, said the company chose to purchase ready-made solutions rather than develop proprietary models.
Testing expands beyond HR
The company piloted the technology in its finance department. An AI agent now collects and analyzes work records from document management systems, including scanned copies. The automation freed two finance employees from manual data entry.
Nova Post plans no layoffs from automation. Instead, the company will retrain affected employees as AI engineers or AI implementation managers.
What's next
Nova Post is now searching for solutions to automate its core operations: logistics planning and dispatching. The company previously deployed AI to photograph branch locations daily and flag compliance issues with company standards.
For HR professionals, the Nova Post approach signals a shift in how recruitment functions operate. Understanding AI for Human Resources is becoming essential as more companies move beyond pilot programs into production deployment.
