Octave Intelligence (Nasdaq: OCTV) and MAIRE have launched a technology collaboration to embed AI directly into engineering and construction workflows, building on a relationship that spans more than two decades. The partnership, announced Aug. 31, 2026, makes Octave a key enabler of MAIRE's digitalization strategy across core engineering, procurement and construction processes.

MAIRE, an engineering group that operates in about 50 countries and has delivered more than 1,500 projects worldwide, is a longtime user of Octave's Design-Build suite, including Octave Forte, Octave OnSite, Octave Loop and the InConcert engineering information management platform. The collaboration runs through Octave CoLabs, a customer-led program focused on applying agentic AI to participating customers' core operational workflows.

Human-in-the-loop AI

The partnership centers on a human-in-the-loop approach. Octave's AI capabilities are designed to give engineers and project teams better information and augment what they can do, rather than replace engineering judgment. That means integrating project data across the full lifecycle, deploying AI models at specific decision points and building a multi-agent framework suited for industrial environments.

"The partnership between MAIRE and Octave focuses on applying AI where it delivers measurable value inside real engineering and construction workflows," said Jay Allardyce, Chief Product Officer at Octave. "MAIRE operates in environments where complexity is high, scale is significant and failure is not an option, which makes consistency and data integrity critical. By connecting trusted, governed data across the lifecycle, we are enabling teams to make better decisions, improve execution predictability and deliver critical infrastructure with greater confidence."

For construction professionals, the practical effect is straightforward: AI models will work inside the tools teams already use, drawing on governed project data to support coordination across engineering, procurement and construction activities. The initiative is expected to improve access to project information and deliver data-driven insights without disrupting established workflows.

Embedding AI inside existing processes

MAIRE's approach to this next phase of digitalization is not about layering technology on top of existing processes but embedding it inside them. The company sees AI grounded in reliable data and designed to amplify human expertise as the differentiator for projects of this scale.

"Every plant MAIRE designs is built for top performance and integrates the best available technologies. Today, that means being at the frontier of AI adoption, and this partnership with Octave is exactly that commitment in action," said Michele Mariella, Chief Information Officer of MAIRE.

MAIRE employs approximately 10,800 people and provides technology solutions and project execution across the energy, chemical and industrial sectors. Octave has roughly 7,200 employees in 45 countries.

For teams working on large capital projects, the takeaway is that AI adoption is moving from pilots into production systems tied to specific decision points. The broader trend - visible in this partnership and others - is that AI for Real Estate & Construction is becoming less about standalone tools and more about integrating intelligence into the software platforms already used to manage complex builds. That shift, combined with the rise of AI Agents & Automation, means project teams should expect AI to show up inside their existing software rather than as a separate step in their workflow.
