OpenText brings enterprise AI and data tools to AWS European Sovereign Cloud
OpenText will offer its content management and security software on AWS European Sovereign Cloud, a new independent cloud infrastructure for Europe that keeps sensitive data within EU boundaries.
The move lets European organizations-particularly those in regulated industries-access OpenText's data and AI capabilities while meeting strict data residency and operational autonomy requirements. Four OpenText products will launch on the platform: Content Management, Documentum Content Management, Core Application Security, and Core Service Management.
AWS European Sovereign Cloud operates independently from existing AWS regions, with all infrastructure located inside the EU. The platform provides the same AWS service portfolio, security features, and APIs as standard AWS, but under sovereign governance designed for European governments and enterprises.
What this means for regulated organizations
OpenText has deployed solutions across FedRAMP-authorized, IRAP-assessed, and Protected B-aligned environments. The company's software prepares structured data for AI-powered analytics and automation, helping teams make faster, data-driven decisions.
Shannon Bell, OpenText's chief digital officer and chief information officer, said the sovereign cloud offering gives customers "the confidence to innovate at scale without compromising on control."
Organizations can begin planning their transition to AWS European Sovereign Cloud now. The infrastructure is built on AWS Nitro System technology and maintains the same performance and availability standards as AWS's standard cloud services.
For management teams evaluating cloud strategy, this expansion addresses a growing requirement: balancing cloud innovation with European regulatory constraints. AI for Executives & Strategy covers how organizations can navigate these decisions.
