Optimizely Launches AI Content Discovery Platform With Real Agent Traffic Data
Optimizely released a full AI-enabled search optimization (AEO) platform on June 10, giving enterprise marketers tools to track how AI systems find and present their content. The platform combines AI visibility analytics, competitor benchmarking, and autonomous agents that identify content gaps and recommend improvements without manual work.
The move addresses a real gap in how marketers measure AI discovery. Most tools rely on controlled prompt testing that doesn't reflect actual search behavior. Optimizely's approach uses log-based data-actual traffic from AI agents crawling websites-paired with search intelligence from partner Conductor.
What Marketers Can See
The platform shows which AI agents visit a site, what content they request, and why. Teams can classify agent activity by intent: retrieval for generating answers, indexing for training data, or other purposes. This grounds strategy in observed behavior rather than assumptions.
Marketers can track which pages gain or lose AI visibility over time and analyze performance through business dimensions that matter-funnel stage, topic area, persona, or content category. A unified dashboard combines agent traffic data, search performance, web analytics, and content intelligence in one place.
Three New Agents for Action
Beyond visibility, Optimizely introduced three agents that automate response to AI discovery changes:
- AEO Gap Finding Agent: Identifies high-priority content gaps by comparing the website against AI search data and competitor citations, then delivers a prioritized action plan.
- Competitive AI Share of Voice Agent: Benchmarks AI search visibility against competitors across relevant topics, showing share of voice and three priorities to act on.
- AI Brand Visibility Report Agent: Generates reports on how the brand ranks across major AI search engines, including sentiment and next steps for improvement.
Shafqat Islam, president at Optimizely, said the platform addresses a disconnect in how marketing teams approach AI discovery. "Prompt monitoring can tell you what an AI model says in a controlled environment, but most AI visibility companies build their prompts in a vacuum, with no grounding in what people are actually searching for."
Partnership With Conductor
The platform relies on data from Conductor, an enterprise AEO platform that tracks visibility across large language models and traditional search. Conductor brings 10+ years of search data and AI discovery signals to inform how the agents generate prompts and identify opportunities.
Seth Besmertnik, CEO of Conductor, said the partnership validates the importance of enterprise-grade foundational data. "Your strategy and your actions are only as strong as the foundational data behind them."
