Papaya Global and Infinity Payroll Group have formed a partnership to move agentic AI from isolated pilots into daily payroll and workforce operations. The agreement, announced September 9, 2026, gives enterprise buyers a defined path to production with clear ownership at each stage-Infinity leads solution design and delivery, while Papaya provides the underlying technology.

Many enterprises have tested AI in payroll and HR functions. Few have moved that technology into a controlled, repeatable operating model. General-purpose AI models can describe employment law in the abstract, but applying that law to a specific company's collective bargaining agreements, internal policies, and support processes requires a party who owns that fit. The partnership addresses this gap directly.

How the ONE platform works

At the center of the partnership is ONE, Papaya's agentic platform. It draws from an organization's own policies, collective bargaining agreements, employment templates, and payroll data across more than 95 countries and all 50 U.S. states. Each response passes through a three-stage reasoning process-Read, Reason, and Review-and is presented to the user organized by severity and linked to the relevant statute.

Infinity will tailor ONE deployments to how support cases move through payroll, HR, and shared services. For individual workers, the platform becomes a single point of contact for completing forms, submitting expenses, and receiving answers without waiting in a queue.

Who is accountable for the outcome

Infinity Payroll Group is an independent advisory firm that has served more than 700 clients across 180 countries and holds engagements with 70 percent of the Fortune 500. The firm began using ONE before entering the partnership.

"Enterprise buyers are not only asking whether AI can answer a question," said Elena Redlich, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Infinity Payroll Group. "They are asking who understands the payroll reality behind the answer, who shapes the operating model, and who remains accountable when the solution moves from a demonstration into daily use. Papaya brings the agentic technology, and Infinity helps make it credible, governed, and usable inside complex enterprise environments."

Eynat Guez, Co-Founder and CEO of Papaya Global, said: "AI is changing the speed of compliance work, but it cannot change who owns the outcome. ONE was built on a single principle: bring the world's compliance expertise inside your organization-tailored to your policies, your CBA agreements, your templates-so your teams can act faster, with confidence, without transferring accountability to a model that cannot carry it."

Initial deployment focus

The companies intend for deployments to deliver practical results within weeks rather than years. Initial work will focus on workforce knowledge, case triage, compliance monitoring, payroll close automation, and finance mapping. That scope will later extend to a broader redesign of workforce service delivery, including call center and shared services operations where payroll, HR, benefits, and workforce management questions already converge.

For payroll professionals watching this shift, structured training can help bridge the gap between AI experimentation and daily operational use. The AI Learning Path for Payroll Administrators provides a framework for understanding how agentic systems interact with compliance rules, policy documents, and payroll data. HR teams looking at the broader picture can also find relevant resources under AI for Human Resources.

Why this matters for HR professionals

This partnership signals a shift in how AI enters payroll operations. Rather than leaving compliance AI to general-purpose models, the arrangement puts an advisory firm between the technology and the enterprise, with explicit responsibility for fitting the platform to internal policies, union agreements, and support workflows. For HR leaders, that means vendor conversations can move from "Can the AI answer this question?" to "Who designs the operating model, and who carries accountability when it's live?"
