Ping An's AI agents drove $4.5bn in sales in first quarter
Ping An Insurance Group generated CNY30.44 billion ($4.46 billion) in sales during the first three months of 2026 using AI agents, according to the company's unaudited first-quarter financial statements released in May.
The AI agents handled demand analysis, personalized product recommendations, and sales pitches. The sales figure represents a material contribution to the Chinese insurer's quarterly performance.

The first quarter saw broader shifts across China's insurance sector. Life insurance expanded at more than twice the pace of property and casualty business. The top five listed insurance groups reported a 17% net profit decline, though five major listed companies posted a 22% jump in combined net profits for full-year 2025.
