Laundris introduced an AI-powered assistant for hotel operators on September 18, 2026, designed to automate linen inventory management and generate custom reports. The tool, available to all existing Laundris customers at no additional cost, aims to replace manual tracking with granular insights into linen usage. Leonard Fiorenza from Hotel Drover said the assistant "saves time from manual tracking" and helps his team control costs and prevent shortages.

Anana, a new company founded by Ricardo Pantaleón and Alexandros Zisimidis, launched an AI workspace for hospitality commercial teams. The platform captures demand signals from guest interactions and links them with existing hotel systems. It includes components like Agents, a Hotel Knowledge Center, and Reporting to identify patterns in pre-booking guest behavior.

Brand expansion and market moves

G6 Hospitality signed a five-hotel new-construction development agreement with Kautilya Group for its Studio 6 Plus brand. The deal marks the brand's entry into the Northeast, starting with two properties in the Connecticut market. The parent company of Motel 6 and Studio 6 is accelerating national growth through the extended-stay segment.

Highgate and Eternam jointly acquired the 191-key Zafolia Hotel Athens, a downtown independent property. The transaction is Highgate's first investment in Greece and builds on its existing Portugal portfolio. The company said it continues to pursue urban hotels and destination resorts across Southern Europe.

Davidson Hospitality Group's Pivot lifestyle operating vertical took over management of the Hutton Hotel in Nashville's West End neighborhood. The 246-room property, part of Marriott's Tribute Portfolio, includes the music venue Analog and restaurant Evelyn's. B&B Hotels opened a 406-room property on Venice's Tronchetto, the only area where the city still permits new construction, giving the French budget chain its first foothold within the municipality.

Renovations and operational efficiency

The Algonquin Hotel in New York completed a full renovation of all guestrooms, elevators, and corridors while remaining operational throughout the multi-year project. Brooklyn-based firm CRÈME / Jun Aizaki Architecture & Design led the redesign in collaboration with LUCID. Full-service and select-service hotels reported year-over-year reductions in hours per occupied room, with housekeeping departments showing per-room efficiency gains.

Folio deepened its partnership with M3, launching an integration that connects procurement, invoice automation, inventory management, and accounting. The workflow targets cost savings, reduced manual work, and faster financial closes for hotel operators. Hapi announced a partnership with Upgrade to help hotels deploy buy now, pay later options at scale through an integration with Flex Pay.

Wellness and the shifting guest experience

The Future Hospitality Summit 2026 in Dubai, running September 29 to October 1, will highlight wellness and longevity as growth drivers. Hotels with major wellness offerings doubled Total Revenue per Available Room compared to others in 2024. Wellness tourism is projected to grow 9.1% annually, with longevity travel reaching $44 billion by 2030.

Chinese AI hotel booking platforms saw an 800% year-over-year order surge during the Spring Festival, driven by smartphone AI assistants from Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Honor. In the U.S., hotel RevPAR fell 6.2% for the week ending September 12, ending a 21-week streak of growth due to a calendar shift. IHG's Chief Commercial and Marketing Officer Heather Balsley told Skift she is focused on making IHG "legible to the AI models" while arguing those models will never own the guest relationship.

Why this matters for operations professionals

The tools launching this week target specific operational pain points: linen tracking, demand intelligence from guest interactions, and back-office workflow connections between procurement and accounting. For operations managers, the Laundris assistant and Folio-M3 integration eliminate manual data re-entry and disconnected systems that cost staff hours. Anana's workspace shifts demand intelligence earlier in the booking cycle. Each of these products addresses the friction that directly affects housekeeping efficiency, inventory control, and financial visibility - the metrics operations teams are measured on daily.
