Presight and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Science and Education unveil AI-based "Digital School" at GITEX Global 2025
At GITEX Global 2025, Presight and the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan introduced the "Digital School" project. The initiative focuses on improving the quality, inclusivity, and reach of education across Azerbaijan with practical AI tools for the classroom.
Built to serve students, parents, and educators, the platform uses data and AI to personalize support and improve daily teaching and learning. It's a clear step toward consistent instructional quality, better learning outcomes, and reduced admin load for teachers.
What's inside the Digital School platform
- Digital Student Assistant: Answers subject questions, clarifies concepts, and keeps learners engaged with timely feedback.
- Digital Teacher Assistant: Helps prepare curriculum-aligned lesson plans, build differentiated assessments, and evaluate responses efficiently.
These assistants bring on-demand support to both sides of the classroom. They help students move faster from confusion to clarity and give teachers back time for high-value instruction.
Vusal Khanlarov, Head of the Department for Informatization of the Education System in Azerbaijan, said: "By leveraging advanced AI technologies in education, we are making high-quality learning more accessible for every student and educator in Azerbaijan. This collaboration demonstrates how innovation can drive meaningful change in the way we teach and learn."
Roadmap and collaboration
The initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed in September 2025 between Presight and the Ministry. The agreement covers AI-enabled educational solutions, including intelligent tutors, teacher assistants, and an Azerbaijani language model built for education.
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, added: "Education is one of the most meaningful applications of artificial intelligence, and our collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Education in Azerbaijan demonstrates how technology can be a true enabler of human potential. The Digital School project reflects our shared vision of making learning more inclusive, dynamic, and effective through Applied Intelligence, helping to prepare the next generation of innovators and leaders in Azerbaijan."
The project also supports Azerbaijan's Generative Artificial Intelligence initiative, which integrates AI into national development strategies. It underscores how public-private collaboration can deliver long-term value through education.
For school leaders and teachers: practical takeaways
- Pilot with purpose: Start in two to three subjects. Track lesson prep time saved, student question accuracy, formative assessment gains, and teacher workload changes.
- Curriculum fit: Map assistant outputs to national standards. Set clear guardrails for academic integrity and classroom use.
- Data governance: Define access, consent, and protection practices. Use audit logs and follow ministry guidance for security and student privacy.
- Teacher development: Offer short, ongoing training. Model effective prompts, feedback loops, and small-group workflows.
- Classroom routines: Use the Student Assistant for quick warm-ups, practice, and revision. Use the Teacher Assistant to generate and refine lesson plans and assessments.
- Access and equity: Ensure tools work on low-bandwidth devices and are available after school for parents and caregivers.
Why this matters
Educators get time back for instruction and student relationships. Students get clearer explanations and more chances to practice with guidance. Parents gain visibility and support without extra complexity.
For system leaders, this is a scalable way to raise instructional consistency and measure impact across schools. It also builds local capacity through AI that understands Azerbaijani language and context.
