Profound launches Aim agent to turn AI search signals into marketing execution

Profound released Profound Aim on July 2, 2026, an always-on background agent that scans AI Search signals and converts them into structured marketing projects. The New York-based company Profound built the tool to address a growing problem: marketing teams across industries are buried in dashboards and alerts telling them how their brands appear in AI platforms, but they lack a clear way to turn that data into work.

"Marketing teams don't need another dashboard. They need to know what to do next," said James Cadwallader, CEO and Co-Founder of Profound. "Aim works in the background, constantly looking for the moments that matter. It tells your team what changed, why it matters, and what to do about it. Instead of spending hours figuring out where to focus, marketers can spend their time actually moving the needle."

From dashboards to action

AI Search has made brand visibility measurable in new ways. Teams track prompt trends, citation frequency, sentiment shifts, competitive benchmarks, and factual accuracy across AI platforms. That depth of data also creates noise. Marketers who once managed a handful of keyword rankings now face thousands of signals, and most days they can only act on a fraction of them.

The product monitors every signal inside Profound's platform, blends it with brand context and priorities, and surfaces the opportunities most likely to improve key metrics. It then packages those opportunities as Projects - complete with briefs, tasks, and recommended workflows - so teams can execute without starting from scratch.

How Profound Aim works

Instead of aggregating metrics, Aim connects detection to delivery. It identifies patterns across AI visibility, sentiment, accuracy, prompt volumes, agentic traffic, and data from knowledge bases and connected apps. When something shifts, it explains the change and estimates the business impact, ranking actions by likely return.

Each flagged opportunity becomes a structured Project. Teams receive detailed briefs and task lists tied to specialized Profound Agents for research, content creation, optimization, and related marketing functions. Marketers keep final approval on everything, so execution stays under human control while the busywork gets automated. After projects finish, Aim measures how completed work affects the original metrics and refines future recommendations accordingly.

"The projects Aim surfaces are literally gold. They are perfectly aligned to what we're trying to accomplish," said Sarah Shaffer, Organic Growth Manager at Plaid.

A marketer's AI agent, grounded in search intelligence

Profound Aim is not a general chatbot repackaged for marketing. It operates on top of an AI Search intelligence platform that ingests and contextualizes brand data across multiple AI ecosystems. That means every recommendation draws on real signals specific to the brand, not generic prompts or broad industry guesses.

The launch reflects the growing demand for AI for Marketing tools that turn raw data into prioritized tasks. By wiring detection to execution through AI Agents & Automation, the system narrows the gap between noticing a problem and solving it. Marketing teams spend less time triaging dashboards and more time on work that changes how customers discover their brands.

Why this matters for marketers

AI-mediated discovery is already reshaping traffic flows, and the complexity will increase as more platforms add generative answers. Teams that rely solely on manual monitoring risk acting too late. Profound Aim gives marketers a continuous loop: it finds the moments that can move metrics, explains them, builds the plan, and routes the work - all while keeping strategic decisions in human hands. For organizations that need to move faster without adding headcount, this kind of background agent shifts the daily question from "what should we focus on?" to "what impact did we drive?"
