Purpose Legal Launches AI Framework, Acquires Hire Counsel in Strong Q1

Purpose Legal, an eDiscovery and litigation services provider, finished Q1 2026 with the launch of a unified AI framework and the acquisition of Hire Counsel, a national legal staffing platform. The Dallas-based company built the momentum on record 2025 performance that landed it on Inc. 5000's list of fastest-growing private companies.

The company introduced two tools in mid-February: PurposeXi™, a framework designed to integrate AI across the litigation lifecycle with built-in governance, and CaseOptics™, which provides early case intelligence by helping legal teams triage large datasets within days of collection.

How the Tools Work

CaseOptics surfaces key issues and custodians early, allowing teams to develop case strategy before document review costs mount. The approach pairs AI with experienced legal and technical professionals-what Purpose Legal calls "HI + AI"-to ensure accuracy and defensibility under legal scrutiny.

Purpose Legal completed the Hire Counsel acquisition in early 2026, adding a roster of more than 70,000 attorneys and legal professionals to its existing capabilities. The combination creates a single vendor relationship for clients rather than forcing them to manage multiple providers across technology, staffing, and services.

Leadership Changes and Recognition

Talin Andonian joined as Chief Operating Officer. Jerry Bui took the role of Senior Vice President of Digital Forensics and Investigations. Martha MacPherson joined as Vice President of Marketing.

Industry recognition in 2025 included "Best of" awards from the New Jersey Law Journal, the Legal Intelligencer, The National Law Journal, New York Law Journal, and Texas Lawyer. The company also earned Relativity's aiR for Review Solution Competency certification.

Technology Partnerships

Purpose Legal deepened collaboration with Relativity and formed a strategic partnership with eDiscovery AI for advanced early case intelligence. The company maintains integrations with ModeOne, Everlaw, and TackleAI.

Greg Mazares, CEO, said the company entered 2026 "with strong momentum and a clear vision for the future - grounded in real growth, meaningful innovation, and the strategic decisions made over the past year."
