Quantum X Labs Appoints Technion Professor to Scientific Advisory Board
Quantum X Labs, a Nasdaq-listed advanced technologies company, appointed Professor Oren Kurland to lead its new Scientific Advisory Board on May 26. Kurland holds an endowed chair at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and specializes in information retrieval, data science, and artificial intelligence.
The board will provide strategic scientific guidance and validate the company's technological direction, ensuring its work aligns with current advances in quantum science and engineering.
Kurland's Background
Kurland earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University and has been faculty at the Technion since 2006. He co-founded the institution's undergraduate and graduate Data Science degree programs and received the Technion's Yanai Prize for teaching excellence.
He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research. His research has been supported by Google (four times), Yahoo (four times), and IBM through faculty research awards. He has also consulted for startups in e-commerce and collaborated with Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Yahoo, and eBay.
