Radisson Hotel Group launches automated price matching for direct bookings

Radisson Hotel Group has launched an AI-powered live price matching system that detects lower publicly available rates on third-party booking sites and matches them in real time on radissonhotels.com. Unveiled at an event in Brussels on 2 July 2026, the technology aims to eliminate manual rate claims and give travelers immediate price confidence when booking directly.

The system automatically compares rates from major online travel agencies (OTAs) including Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda, Priceline, Trip.com, MakeMyTrip and others. When a lower eligible public rate is found, the guest sees the matched price without needing to submit screenshots or wait for approval. This replaces the traditional Best Online Rate Guarantee that required travelers to find a cheaper rate, prove it, and wait for a decision.

AI moves from back-end tool to guest-facing advantage

The strongest aspect of the launch is that AI is placed directly into the guest booking journey. Rather than functioning only as an internal revenue-management tool, the system verifies rate differences and applies the eligible match automatically while the guest remains on the hotel's own booking channel. This shifts responsibility from the guest to the system for identifying and resolving rate gaps.

By using AI Agents & Automation, the technology reduces manual administration for hotel teams and creates a smoother booking experience. Guests no longer need to wonder whether an OTA has a cheaper rate they missed. The automated model makes the direct booking flow more competitive against third-party platforms at the exact moment when many customers might otherwise leave.

Direct booking gets a stronger reason to win

The new system addresses one of the biggest challenges in hotel distribution: the competition between hotel websites and OTAs. Travelers often use OTAs because they believe they can find better prices or easier comparisons. By matching eligible lower rates in real time, Radisson gives guests a clearer reason to book through its own digital channel. The system is live across all Radisson Hotel Group properties worldwide and covers a wide range of OTAs, making the direct channel more competitive against the booking sites travelers already use.

Guests gain speed and price confidence

For travelers, the main benefit is ease. The feature reduces the uncertainty that often appears during hotel booking. Price differences across platforms can be confusing, especially for international stays, business trips, or multi-city itineraries. An automated matching model simplifies decision-making by keeping the booking process inside the hotel's official channel, where guests may also access reservation management, loyalty benefits, and brand communication.

Hotel teams gain relief from manual claims

The technology also benefits hotel staff. Manual rate-match claims require time, staff review, and administrative follow-up-validating screenshots, comparing terms, and processing adjustments. Automating eligible price matching removes much of this burden, allowing teams to focus on service delivery and guest communication. The system also provides better visibility into pricing performance and customer behavior, helping hotels optimize direct booking strategies.

Price transparency becomes a trust strategy

The launch signals a wider change in hospitality technology. Price transparency is now a trust issue. Travelers want to feel that the brand website is not more expensive than a third-party channel. If they believe the hotel's direct platform protects them on price, they may be more willing to book directly and join loyalty ecosystems. This reduces dependency on intermediaries and strengthens the direct relationship with guests. The feature fits into a broader industry push toward AI for Hospitality & Events, including automated booking support and revenue optimization.

Why this matters for hospitality and events professionals

For hotel and event professionals, this development signals that AI-driven price transparency and automation are becoming competitive necessities. Direct booking strategies can no longer rely on manual rate guarantees-real-time rate integrity is now a practical tool to retain guests and reduce OTA leakage. Professionals should evaluate whether their own booking technology still depends on reactive claims, because automated matching can shift guest behavior and improve direct revenue without adding staff workload. The ability to offer instant price confidence may soon be a baseline expectation among travelers.
