RingCentral announced new capabilities for its AI Receptionist (AIR) that extend automation across SMS, call queues, and third-party scheduling tools. The expansion lets businesses respond to customers instantly across multiple channels without hiring additional staff.

More than 11,800 businesses now use AIR to automate customer interactions. The tool handles calls and texts 24/7, reducing wait times and freeing support teams to focus on complex issues.

Real results from current users

Keller Interiors, which manages 33 Lowe's installation locations, deployed AIR to handle high call volumes. The company reduced average wait times from 12 minutes to 90 seconds and improved customer satisfaction scores by 3 points in four months-without adding staff.

Maple Federal Credit Union used AIR to cut hold times by 90% across branches using disconnected systems. The credit union said the tool let staff focus on conversations that required human judgment.

New integrations and channels

AIR now connects with Shopify, Calendly, and WhatsApp. A plumbing company, for example, can use AIR to answer text questions about pricing and availability, then automatically book appointments. A healthcare office can use AIR to handle call surges during peak hours by answering questions about office hours and insurance coverage.

The tool can also detect and respond in the customer's language. AIR supports 10 languages including English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese, switching automatically based on what the caller speaks.

RingCentral AIR starts at $49 per month for 100 minutes as a standalone product. Existing RingCentral customers can add AIR for $39 per month with the same minutes included.
