SAS has launched 360 Marketing AI, a platform designed to let marketing teams build and deploy machine-learning models without dedicated data science support. The software, announced on 24 August 2026, guides users through data preparation, predictive modelling, and scoring, and can run as a standalone tool or within the company's Customer Intelligence 360 suite.
The platform is aimed at common marketing tasks such as predicting which customers are most likely to convert, identifying churn risk, and calculating next-best offers. It also supports cross-selling, customer-lifetime-value analysis, and audience segmentation.
Reducing the data preparation burden
SAS says data preparation can account for up to 80% of model-development work. The platform automates parts of that process, along with feature engineering and model training, to cut the workload for marketing teams.
Models can be trained using data where it already resides, which reduces the amount of data movement and preparation required before analysis. Once deployed, the platform monitors model performance and can automatically retrain models when needed.
For marketers looking to build these skills, training in AI for Marketing Managers covers the practical side of applying machine learning to campaign planning and customer data. Broader guidance on AI for Marketing is also available for teams getting started with predictive modelling.
Governance and transparency
The platform includes visibility into data inputs and model outcomes, alongside bias detection and mitigation. Automated monitoring and governance tools support ongoing model management, which matters for organisations that need to document how automated decisions are made.
The deployment model lets organisations start with a single marketing application and expand as their analytics capabilities mature. Within the SAS Customer Intelligence 360 ecosystem, the software supports journey orchestration, decisioning, and personalisation.
Roger Beharry Lall, research director at IDC, said the product addresses a long-standing gap. "For the longest time, ownership of analytical intelligence has lived outside of marketing," he said. "As such, this predictive intelligence was hard to procure, often being costly, complex, and time consuming. Offerings like SAS 360 Marketing AI solution help democratise the skills, knowledge, and trust needed to put predictive AI in the hands of marketers."
Why this matters for marketing teams
The practical takeaway is that marketing departments no longer need to queue for data science resources every time they want a new predictive model. If the platform delivers on its claims, teams can run their own modelling cycles, monitor results, and adjust campaigns in-house. That shifts the bottleneck from technical skills to knowing which business questions are worth answering with a model.
Mike Blanchard, SAS head of customer intelligence solutions, put it directly: "Marketers don't lack data - they lack the ability to act on it at speed. SAS 360 Marketing AI removes the barriers between insight and execution, giving teams the tools to operationalise AI where it matters most: real customer decisions."
