Schneider Electric Unveils AI-Driven Ecosystem to Transform Sustainability and Energy Management
Schneider Electric launches an AI-driven ecosystem to enhance sustainability and energy management. Its Agentic AI actively optimizes efforts by collaborating with human experts in real time.

Schneider Electric Introduces AI-Driven Ecosystem for Sustainability and Energy Management
Schneider Electric has announced a multi-year initiative to develop an AI-powered ecosystem focused on sustainability and energy management. This effort reflects the company’s dedication to advancing software and solutions that support a sustainable future.
Agentic AI: From Passive Tools to Active Intelligence
Central to this initiative is Agentic AI, a type of artificial intelligence designed to operate autonomously or collaboratively with clients and consultants. Unlike traditional software that acts passively, these AI agents anticipate needs and adapt to real-time conditions, actively optimizing sustainability efforts.
The ecosystem will function as a command center and decision-making platform, integrating AI agents into workflows. This integration allows AI to work seamlessly with human experts and enterprise systems, converting fragmented sustainability activities into a connected, intelligent system that continuously improves results.
Leadership and Expertise Driving Innovation
Steve Wilhite, President of Schneider’s Sustainability Business division, emphasized the importance of AI working alongside human experts as digital teammates. This collaboration automates complex data analysis and frees clients to focus on strategic initiatives that enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
Julien Picaud, the new Head of Product Management, will lead the integration of new features from Schneider’s acquisition of EcoAct, a sustainability firm. These features include decarbonization strategies, emissions management, climate risk assessment, energy management, and a user-friendly interface.
Building on Proven Sustainability Leadership
With two decades of experience helping multinational companies meet sustainability goals, Schneider Electric combines human expertise with AI to create innovative solutions for energy management. Amy Cravens, Research Director at IDC, noted that Schneider’s agentic AI ecosystem equips organizations to address complex challenges and convert data into actionable insights.
The company’s commitment to sustainability is further highlighted by its recognition as the World’s Most Sustainable Company by Corporate Knights and its repeated inclusion among the World’s Most Ethical Companies. Schneider Electric prioritizes computational efficiency and responsible resource use to ensure its AI technology minimizes energy consumption and emissions.
Dan Whitsell, CTO of Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Business division, pointed out the focus on “frugal efficiency,” using optimized algorithms and infrastructure to reduce energy use without sacrificing performance.
Comprehensive Solutions for a Sustainable Future
As a global leader in industrial technology, Schneider Electric offers expertise in electrification, automation, and digitization. The company delivers smart industries, resilient infrastructure, future-ready data centers, intelligent buildings, and connected homes through integrated AI-powered Industrial IoT solutions.
Its portfolio includes connected products, automation systems, software, and services that provide digital twins to support profitable growth. With 150,000 employees and a network of over one million partners in more than 100 countries, Schneider maintains close relationships with customers and stakeholders while emphasizing diversity and inclusion.
This initiative marks a significant step in combining AI with sustainability efforts, offering management professionals tools to drive efficient energy use and reduce environmental impact.
