Simply Business launches ChatGPT insurance app for small business quotes
Simply Business has released a business insurance app on ChatGPT in the US and UK, allowing small business owners to get price estimates without leaving the chat interface.
The app connects ChatGPT to Simply Business' pricing tool. Users enter three data points-business type, annual revenue estimate, and ZIP code-and receive an indicative quote. They then move to the company's website to complete the full application and purchase.
The launch is part of Simply Business' broader strategy to use AI in insurance research and purchasing. The app appears in ChatGPT's App Directory and may surface when users search for business insurance information.
Removing friction from the buying process
David Summers, Group CEO at Simply Business, said the move reflects the company's two-decade effort to simplify how small businesses buy insurance. "We are continuing to evolve our capabilities to simplify the way they research and buy insurance," he said.
The company is betting that small business owners already use ChatGPT for research and decision-making. By embedding insurance pricing directly into that environment, Simply Business removes a step in the buying journey.
Dana Edwards, Group CTO at Simply Business, said the app includes safeguards designed to protect customer data. "We designed the app with the safeguards that customers have come to expect," he said.
Part of a larger AI for Insurance push
This launch follows Simply Business' introduction of an AI-powered advisor in the US in October 2025, which aimed to speed up and clarify the insurance buying process.
The move reflects a wider trend: insurance companies embedding their services directly into platforms where customers already make decisions. This approach reduces friction by meeting customers where they already spend time.
