SpotsNow Launches AI System to Automate Podcast Ad Sales Work
SpotsNow launched an AI operating system today designed to handle the manual work that slows podcast advertising sales. The platform automates campaign planning, pricing, and booking on the advertiser side, while building custom AI agents for network sales teams to handle outreach, RFP responses, and show vetting.
Podcast advertising remains one of the few ad channels still run on spreadsheets and email threads. Advertisers manually plan campaigns. Networks chase those campaigns across disconnected tools. Every other major ad channel automated this work years ago.
The Sales Team Bottleneck
Network sales teams spend roughly 30 minutes on each outbound message-identifying brands, finding the right contact, and writing a custom pitch. Vetting a single large media plan can require hundreds of approval emails logged by hand. Inventory is often tracked across spreadsheets rather than a single system.
Most podcast networks lack engineering teams to fix these problems. The manual work is what caps how much they can sell.
How It Works
SpotsNow operates as the engineering team networks don't have. The system builds custom AI agents trained on how each network already works-its tone, workflows, and pain points. Agents draft outreach with real angles, turn agency briefs into finished plans, run show approvals, and track inventory.
Sales teams make the final call before anything goes out. The agents handle the repetitive load and get work most of the way there. There's no platform switch required; the work meets sellers where they already work.
The company says the system can unlock up to 30% more revenue by freeing sales teams from busywork.
The Thinking Behind It
Cam Pritchard, SpotsNow's founder and CEO, worked at Thumbtack, a home services marketplace. He saw small service businesses compete with national brands when the platform did the heavy lifting for them. "Podcast networks are in exactly that position today," he said. "They run on spreadsheets and email threads, they have no engineers to build their way out of it, the manual work is the single biggest limit on how much they can grow."
For operations professionals managing ad sales workflows, understanding how AI agents and automation can eliminate repetitive tasks is essential. Those managing podcast network operations may also benefit from exploring how AI tools can optimize operational efficiency.
