Staypineapple expands AI guest personalization with Abra Hospitality across hotel portfolio

Staypineapple is rolling out Abra Hospitality's AI-powered guest personalization platform across its entire hotel portfolio after a successful pilot at its Chicago property. The brand, which operates hotels in New York City, San Francisco, Boston, Seattle, and Portland, will use the platform to centralize guest intelligence and make it accessible to staff across all departments.

Abra pulls guest information from Staypineapple's existing technology stack, including Mews and other hospitality management systems, and combines it into what the company describes as a "living, AI-powered institutional memory." That memory becomes more useful with each new data point, according to the announcement.

The platform also lets hotel staff contribute knowledge directly. Team members at the front desk, in housekeeping, and across food and beverage can share details learned through guest conversations, making that information available to colleagues throughout the property.

Turning staff knowledge into team knowledge

The rollout addresses a common problem in hospitality: guest preferences often live only in individual employees' heads or in isolated systems. When a front desk agent learns a guest prefers a top-floor room or a particular pillow type, that information typically doesn't travel with the guest to their next stay.

"Personalized service is what we strive to deliver to our guests. It's why they remember us and why they come back," said Dina Belon, president of Staypineapple. "Our continuous goal is to make those unforgettable moments happen consistently at every property. We went looking for technology that could help us do that at scale, and Abra met those needs by expanding the level of personalization we have cultivated as a company. It's a platform that turns what our team members know into something the whole team can act on, bringing our tagline, 'Where Stays Become Stories,' to life."

For hotel operators, the underlying approach connects directly to broader AI for Hospitality & Events applications: using accumulated guest data to anticipate needs rather than react to them.

Why this matters for hospitality and events professionals

Staypineapple's move reflects a broader shift in hotel operations. Guest knowledge has traditionally been a bottleneck - valuable but hard to scale beyond what individual staff members can remember. Platforms like Abra turn that knowledge into a shared resource that any employee can access at any touchpoint.

For event planners, front desk teams, and hotel managers, this means the information guests already share during booking conversations or check-in can be put to work across the entire stay. A preference mentioned once to a front desk agent doesn't need to be re-explained to housekeeping or the concierge.

Dana Ellis, co-founder and chief hospitality officer of Abra, said the platform was built to solve that operational problem. "As a hotelier, I saw firsthand the incredible impact that meaningfully personalized service had on guest experience, team engagement and enduring loyalty," she said. "But I also saw how difficult it was to actually deliver it operationally. We built Abra to make this kind of service effortless and to give team members the superpower to make magic for each and every guest."

The same pattern applies to AI for Customer Support work in hotels: when service teams share what they know, response times drop and repeat requests fall away. The technology doesn't replace staff judgment - it makes sure good judgment isn't lost when shifts change or guests return months later.
