Stensul adds AI governance features to let enterprises run campaigns through AI agents

Stensul adds AI governance features to let enterprises run campaigns through AI agents

Stensul's September release adds new capabilities that let enterprise marketing teams hand campaign assembly to AI agents while keeping every step inside approved brand and compliance rules. The update, announced September 10, moves large organizations toward a model where AI handles production from brief through to launch-ready campaigns, and marketers focus on strategy, exceptions, and approvals.

MCP powers let AI agents do more of the assembly work

The release expands the platform's MCP capabilities so AI agents can act on real-time governance rules. Agents can now start from a Workfront brief, select an appropriate Stensul template or pre-approved email, pull in approved imagery, generate alt text, apply tracking parameters, and create content for predefined audience segments. They can also preview the assembled email before handing it off for human review.

"With Stensul, our AI can now handle images, links, and copy for our pre-templated emails," said Justin Price, Multichannel Marketing Leader at the Milwaukee Bucks. "Completing these requests more efficiently via MCP allows our team to invest even more time in multichannel creative campaigns."

Figma designs become governed, reusable campaign modules

An expanded Figma integration lets authorized designers create new modules and publish them directly to the Stensul library. Marketers and AI agents can then use those modules to build campaigns, updating text and other permitted elements within each module's governance rules and their own access permissions. Each design becomes a reusable campaign asset that does not require an administrator to rebuild it.

Automated QA catches errors before they reach review

Administrators set the rules for what is required, and automation flags mistakes at the point of creation - missing subject lines, stray placeholder text, and similar glitches. The aim is to reduce the costly rebuild and review cycles that happen when errors slip through manual checks.

"Our customers are moving toward a new campaign operating model, where AI agents handle production at scale and people focus on strategy, judgment, and exceptions," said Manlio Carrelli, CEO of Stensul. "Stensul provides the governance layer that enables this shift across the tools enterprises already use - so campaign volume and personalization can grow without production effort growing alongside them."

The new functionality connects steps that typically sit in separate tools: briefs, AI tools, design files, campaign builders, and review processes. Marketing operations teams establish approved starting points and requirements once. Marketers, designers, and AI agents then create within those boundaries.

Why this matters for marketing professionals

For marketing teams running high-volume email programs, the release addresses a hard constraint: personalization and volume usually demand more production hours. Stensul's approach lets governance rules - not manual checks - enforce brand and compliance standards while AI agents do the assembly. That means marketers can scale campaign output without scaling headcount, and the work that reaches review is already inside approved guardrails. Teams evaluating AI for Marketing workflows will find a concrete example of governance-first automation here, where the AI's role is production within set rules, not open-ended generation.
