Supermicro Names Matthew Thauberger Chief Revenue Officer
Super Micro Computer appointed Matthew Thauberger as Chief Revenue Officer, tasking him with overseeing global sales, channel partnerships, and hyperscale accounts as the company pursues growth in AI and infrastructure markets.
Thauberger moves into the role from Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, a position he held since April 2020. During that tenure, he led product launches, expanded the company's Fortune 500 customer pipeline, and supported growth in cloud service provider and enterprise storage markets.
Background and Sales Experience
Before joining Supermicro, Thauberger held Vice President of Sales at Burlywood and General Manager of U.S. Sales at Inspur Systems. He previously spent time at AMAX in executive roles including Vice President of Global Sales and General Manager of EMEA Operations.
Supermicro founder Charles Liang said Thauberger's experience positions him to accelerate the company's next phase of growth. The company sees significant opportunities in AI and infrastructure markets.
Leadership Transition
The appointment marks the retirement of Don Clegg, who served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Supermicro credited Clegg with expanding global customer relationships and scaling the company's sales strategy during periods of rapid technology market evolution.
