Traza Raises $2.1 Million to Automate Procurement With AI Agents

Traza, a New York-based startup, announced $2.1 million in pre-seed funding to deploy AI agents that handle procurement and supply chain tasks for manufacturers and construction companies. Base10 Partners led the round, with participation from K Fund, Andreessen Horowitz scouts, Clara Ventures, Masia Ventures, and angel investors.

The company will use the funding to expand its engineering team, accelerate AI agent development, and deepen partnerships with enterprise customers across the United States.

The Problem: Massive Manual Labor in Procurement

Procurement remains one of the most labor-intensive functions in industrial operations. Despite a global procurement software market valued at more than $8 billion, most companies still rely on manual processes, staffing agencies, and workarounds to manage vendor outreach, quote requests, order tracking, and invoice reconciliation.

The cost of this inefficiency is substantial. Procurement contracts lose an average of 11% of their value after signing due to execution gaps-translating into tens of millions of dollars in annual losses for large enterprises. Most organizations actively manage only their top suppliers, leaving a long tail of operational tasks unaddressed due to complexity and cost constraints.

How Traza Works

Traza deploys AI agents that integrate directly into existing procurement workflows. These agents autonomously handle vendor management, quote generation, order tracking, supplier communication, and invoice processing-reducing reliance on manual labor.

Recent advances in AI-including multi-step reasoning, tool use, and contextual memory-now enable agents to execute full procurement workflows from vendor discovery through purchase order management and invoice processing.

Market Readiness

A 2025 survey found that 76% of supply chain professionals believe autonomous AI agents are ready to manage core operational tasks. Early implementations have reduced costs by 20% to 35%.

The Team

Traza was founded by Silvestre Jara Montes, Santiago Martínez Bragado, and Sergio Ayala Miñano. The founders bring experience from Amazon, CMA CGM, Clarity AI, and StackAI, combining domain expertise in supply chain operations with AI system development.

What's Next

Rexhi Dollaku, General Partner at Base10 Partners, said procurement is "one of the largest, most underautomated markets in the Real Economy-and AI agents are finally capable of doing the work, not just assisting with it."

For operations professionals, understanding how AI agents automate workflows is becoming essential. Those looking to implement these systems in supply chain and procurement roles can explore AI for Operations learning resources.
