Uttarakhand Signs Three Major Agreements to Boost Digital Talent, AI Education, and Social Development

Three Key Agreements Signed in Uttarakhand to Boost Social Development, Digital Talent, and AI-based Education

Uttarakhand is set to become a center for digital talent, AI-driven education, and social upliftment following the signing of three significant agreements. These deals, inked at the Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, focus on enhancing education, skill development, and social welfare across the state.

Driving Social and Economic Progress

The first agreement is a 10-year tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Uttarakhand Government, Setu Commission, and Tata Trust. It targets key areas such as water management, nutrition, telemedicine, rural livelihoods, and green energy. This partnership aims to accelerate social and economic development, ensuring a stronger foundation for the state's future growth.

Building Uttarakhand as a Digital Talent Hub

The second agreement involves the Setu Commission, the Higher Education and Technical Education Departments, and NASSCOM/IT-ITES Sector Skill Council. This initiative integrates technology-focused courses into all government and private higher education institutions in Uttarakhand. Through the Future Skills Prime platform, students will gain skills in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Python, and Generative AI.

The program targets 1.5 lakh students, with one mentor institute established in each district to oversee implementation. This effort prepares students for the technology-driven job market by embedding relevant skills directly into their academic journey.

AI-Driven Personality Development and Skill Training

The third agreement is a three-year partnership with the Wadhwani Foundation. Starting next academic session, all government higher education institutions in Uttarakhand will include AI-based personality development and self-employment skill training courses for academic credit. Around 1.2 lakh students are expected to benefit from this program.

This initiative focuses on equipping students with soft skills and entrepreneurial abilities that complement their technical knowledge, enhancing their employability and readiness for the evolving workforce.

Leadership Perspective

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted the importance of these agreements, stating, β€œThe three agreements signed today will be extremely useful in preparing our youth for future challenges and ensuring the inclusive development of our state.”

He emphasized the state's commitment to leveraging technology and education to reach every individual and establish Uttarakhand as a modern center for Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital learning.
