Two Companies Partner to Let Writers Prove Their Work Is Human-Made
Verify My Writing and AI-Free Cert announced a partnership to give creators verifiable credentials proving their work is human-authored, not generated by artificial intelligence. The move addresses growing concerns about AI-generated content flooding publishing and education sectors.
Verify My Writing scans and certifies writing as human-produced, attaching a trackable credential and QR code that links back to the document. AI-Free Cert provides blockchain-backed certification for video, audio, and images based on the creator's declaration.
Derek Newton, CEO and founder of Verify My Writing, said the service puts control back in writers' hands. Newton, a journalist and expert in workplace and academic fraud, has covered credential misrepresentation since 2015.
"Fraud and misrepresentation are a plague on everyone, but particularly in publishing and education, where knowing authorship is critical," Newton said. "Verify My Writing gives control into the hands of the authors themselves in a very affordable and easy way."
Faik Sevim, co-founder of AI-Free Cert, said creators want to demonstrate their work is free from AI influence. "Our collective services provide an easy and inexpensive way to do just that," Sevim said. "Creators receive a verifiable certification mark that can be displayed alongside the creative work, and the work is registered on our site and in the blockchain."
Both services target the problem of distinguishing human-created work from machine-generated content. For writers concerned about AI in their field, understanding AI for Writers and how Generative AI and LLM systems work can provide context for why verification matters.
The partnership makes certification more accessible to writers, students, and other creators seeking to protect their reputation and prove authenticity.
