Yusen Logistics deploys cargo.one AI platform across global air freight operations
Yusen Logistics will roll out an AI-powered operating system across its air freight sales and procurement operations worldwide, the company announced May 26. More than 100 branches will gain access to cargo.one's platform to manage rate procurement, quoting, and booking functions.
The system centralizes live, static, contract, and consolidation rates alongside local and trucking charges in one place. Teams can compare pricing across Yusen's global network, including inter-branch transactions.
What the platform does
Yusen plans to integrate cargo.one with its existing Transport Management System. The integration will create a single source of truth for rates and data across the company's air freight operations.
The platform addresses a core operations challenge: pricing consistency across regions. Yusen said the system will improve operational efficiency and decision-making by giving teams standardized access to the same rate information.
Why this matters for operations teams
Air freight procurement involves juggling multiple rate types and suppliers across dispersed locations. A centralized platform reduces the friction of comparing options and reduces the risk of pricing errors or inconsistencies that can erode margins.
Eisuke Fukagawa, Head of Air Freight Forwarding Unit at Yusen Logistics Global Management, said the deployment represents "an important step in Yusen Logistics' journey towards pricing digitalization and broader procurement modernization."
cargo.one said the partnership positions Yusen to adopt future AI-driven automation capabilities in procurement and operations.
