AI agent for midwifes
Birth Kit and Medication Expiry Agent
Every birth bag is complete and in date before any client's due window opens
What it does
Midwives carry birth bags with supplies and emergency medications that must be complete and in date at every birth. This agent keeps a count of each bag and the practice stock. After every birth or restock, it reads the used-items log and lowers the count. Weekly, it checks expiry dates and flags anything expiring within 60 days. It drafts an order for low or expiring items from the usual supplier and sends it to the midwife for approval. When the delivery arrives, it compares the packing slip with the order. If items are missing, it loops back and drafts a follow-up. Before each due date window, it confirms every bag is complete. It never orders controlled or prescription items without the midwife. Edge case: oxytocin that was left out of the fridge during a long birth is marked for replacement even if in date.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
