AI agent for chief executing officers

Innovation Pipeline Stage Review Agent

Regular evidence-based decisions for every idea in the pipeline

Innovation Pipeline Stage Review Agent: what goes in, what the agent does and what you get

What it does

Innovation portfolios need regular decisions on which ideas move forward, but ideas often linger without evidence. This agent tracks each idea's stage, spend, evidence gathered and time in stage. Before the monthly review, it compares evidence with the stage exit criteria, such as customer evidence or a working prototype. It asks owners for missing evidence and checks what they submit; ideas without the needed evidence are marked not ready. Ideas over twice the stage time limit are flagged as stalled, and it checks portfolio balance across horizons. It drafts a review pack with suggested decisions to advance, pivot or stop. The innovation lead and sponsors decide. Paused clocks need a dated reason. Edge case: an idea depends on a delayed partner pilot, so the agent pauses its clock with a note.

How it works

Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.

An example run

What happensBefore the June review, 5 of 18 ideas had been in exploration over 6 months. One owner said customer interviews were done, but no notes were filed, so the evidence check failed and the idea was marked not ready. Another idea's clock was paused for a delayed partner pilot. Sponsors stopped two stalled ideas and advanced three.
