AI agent for bank branch managers
Teller Error and Variance Review Agent
Repeat drawer variances fall because causes are found and coached
What it does
A teller's drawer is off by a few dollars, and it happens again the next week. Without tracking, the manager sees only totals. This agent reads daily variances by teller and transaction type, and finds patterns: the same teller on the same type, a time of day, or a procedure step. It links each pattern to the written procedure and picks a likely cause, such as miscounted large bills or double entries. It drafts a short coaching item with the evidence and the relevant step. A week later it checks whether the variance dropped and revises the note if not. The manager approves what is shared. Edge case: three tellers share one drawer on busy days, so the agent looks at shift handoffs before pointing to any person.
How it works
Follow the arrows from top to bottom. The orange dashed arrow is the loop: when a check fails, the agent goes back and tries again.
Read the steps as a list
- Daily variance report arrives
- Load variances by teller, drawer, shift and transaction type
- Find repeat patterns across the last 30 days
- Is the pattern clear enough, with three or more matching days?If not: keep watching and widen the window. Back to step 2.
- Link the pattern to the procedure step most likely involved
- Draft a short coaching item with the evidence
- Manager approves what is shared with the tellerThe agent waits here for your OK.
- Log the coaching and set a recheck for next week
- Did variances drop after coaching? If not: revise the cause, try another procedure step and coach again. Back to step 5.
- Pattern log and results
How it decides
A pattern exists when the same type or teller shows variances on three or more days in 30. The agent picks the cause that matches the procedure step most often involved.
- Count a pattern after variances on 3 days in 30
- Look at shared drawers and handoffs before naming a person
- Link each pattern to one procedure step
- Recheck one week after coaching
