AI tool
Agent Inbox
Agent Inbox gives each AI agent its own email address, Slack handle, and Telegram handle behind one API, so you can message it from apps you already use. It is open-source and built for developers running AI agents.

About Agent Inbox
Agent Inbox is a tool from the team behind Novu that gives each AI agent its own email address, Slack handle and Telegram handle, all behind one API. It works with Claude, Grok, OpenAI, Hermes and other agent frameworks. The product launched this week and is open-source.
Review
Agent Inbox addresses a specific problem: agents that finish work but can't reach the person they work for. The tool routes those messages through channels people already check, and replies come back in the same thread. Setup is listed at under two minutes with your agents, and the launch thread shows a product still taking shape through user feedback.
Key Features
- One API, three channels: every agent gets an email address, Slack handle and Telegram handle without separate glue code for each channel.
- Human-in-the-loop approvals: approve or reject an agent's action straight from Slack, and each approval records who answered and when.
- Conversation history: the inbox keeps a full thread of conversation, including approved tool calls, decisions and human-in-the-loop resolutions, so the agent gets the full history context.
- Multi-person access: invite a teammate with a link, let them pick a channel, and the agent can reach them too.
- Email forwarding: forward an email to your agent and have it handle the reply.
Pricing and Value
The tool is listed as Free on its page, and it is open-source. No paid tiers or usage limits are stated in the reference material, so any pricing beyond the free listing is not yet defined.
Pros
- Channels sit behind a single API, which removes per-channel glue code such as separate Slack bots and Telegram webhooks.
- Works with Claude, Grok, OpenAI, Hermes and other agent frameworks rather than one vendor.
- Approval records show who answered and when, so a "yes" is a logged decision instead of a guess.
- Teammates can be added through an invite link and choose their own channel.
- Open-source, with setup listed at under two minutes.
Cons
- Real-time invocation through the
agentinbox listenmethod is being rolled out and currently supports only Claude Code, with more agent platforms coming soon. Without it, agents check the inbox on a schedule. - WhatsApp is not yet supported by Agent Inbox. The makers say it is next on the list, though Novu Connect already supports WhatsApp Business for custom-built agents.
- Not well suited to teams that need more channels today, such as Discord or SMS, or that want a finished, stable feature set rather than a product launched this week and still shaped by feedback.
Agent Inbox fits developers and small teams running agents on Claude, Grok, OpenAI or Hermes who want approvals and status updates to reach them in Slack, Telegram or email. It's less useful if you need WhatsApp, Discord or SMS in place now, or if you'd rather wait until real-time listening covers more than Claude Code.
