Everyday Prompts for Caregivers, From Notes to Meals

Caregivers write more than people realize. Notes, handoffs, medication logs, family texts, appointment lists. This course turns each of those into a simple prompt you can reuse.

You will work in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, whichever you already use. Every lesson gives you the words to type and a way to check the result before you send it.

  1. The lessons
    1. Daily Care Documentation: Write clear, professional care notes, handoffs, and incident reports with AI help.
    2. Explaining Health Info Simply: Turn medical jargon into plain language for family and your own understanding.
    3. Meal Planning for Special Diets: Plan safe, nutritious meals and shopping lists for clients with dietary restrictions.
    4. Medication Schedule & Tracking: Organize medication times, reminders, and symptom logs to share with the care team.
    5. Appointment Preparation: Get ready for doctor visits with questions, summaries, and organized medication lists.
    6. Family Communication: Write updates and scripts to keep families informed and handle sensitive talks.
    7. Activity & Engagement Planning: Create safe, engaging activities and exercises tailored to a client's abilities.
    8. Home Safety & Fall Prevention: Spot hazards, build checklists, and plan safe transfers to prevent accidents.
  2. What the Course Covers

Eight lessons, each built around a task you already do. You start with daily care documentation and finish with home safety and fall prevention.

In between you cover plain-language health explanations, special diets, medication schedules, appointment prep, family communication, and activity planning.

  3. How the Lessons Connect

The lessons build on each other. The care note you learn to write in lesson one becomes the summary you bring to a doctor in lesson five.

The medication log from lesson four feeds the family update in lesson six. By the end, you have a set of prompts that work together.

  4. How to Use the Prompts Well

Give your AI tool the details it needs. Instead of 'write a note,' say 'write a note for a client who ate half her lunch and seemed tired, in a calm and factual tone.'

Always read what comes back. You are the one who knows the client, so you decide what is true and what needs changing.

  5. Who This Course Is For

This is for caregivers in homes, assisted living, and family settings. It is also for anyone who helps a relative and handles the paperwork side.

No technical background is needed. If you can type a sentence, you can do this.

  6. Safety and Privacy at Work

Never put full names, addresses, or identifying details into an AI tool unless your workplace allows it. Use initials or general descriptions instead.

Follow your agency's rules first. The course shows you how to get useful help while keeping client information protected.

  7. Your Next Step

Pick the lesson that matches the task you dislike most. Do that one first, and use the prompt on a real note or plan this week.

Then come back for the next lesson when you have a few quiet minutes.
