365mc, a healthcare provider specializing in liposuction, has launched a dedicated AI innovation team called AX Champions to integrate artificial intelligence across both clinical practice and hospital operations. The move, formalized during a June 24 ceremony at The Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, signals the company's push to become a data-driven, AI-powered medical group - a step that could reshape how specialty clinics approach precision medicine and operational efficiency.

Choi Ji-hyun, a senior executive at 365mc, was named the organization's inaugural chief AI officer (CAIO). Sixteen employees from clinical and administrative functions were selected as AI champions to drive adoption throughout the enterprise. The new team will focus on weaving AI into patient registration, consultations, procedures, post-treatment care, human resources, accounting, and IT.

A data-centric approach to precision healthcare

Kim Ha-jin, chairman of the 365mc Council of Representative Medical Directors, said the initiative aims to strengthen AI-powered workflows and advance data-driven precision medicine. "By strengthening AI-powered workflows and our data-driven precision healthcare system, we aim to deliver safer medical services and exceptional patient satisfaction," Kim said. "When employees who best understand clinical practice and hospital operations participate in AI adoption, patients will experience meaningful improvements in both healthcare services and the overall customer experience."

The company's AI work stretches back to 2017, when it co-developed the M.A.I.L. System, an AI-assisted liposuction platform, with Microsoft. A year later it established HOBIT Lab, an internal AI research division that now draws on more than 1.4 billion data points accumulated over 23 years. These efforts mirror the larger trend of AI for Healthcare moving from experimental tools into routine clinical workflows. In 2023, collaborations with Kyung Hee University College of Medicine and Ewha Womans University produced algorithms to predict optimal fat extraction volume and intraoperative respiratory depression, both published in the peer-reviewed journal Scientific Reports.

Bringing AI into the consultation room and operating suite

365mc has already deployed several AI tools in daily practice. The APPA system predicts postoperative bruising and swelling, while the LEPA platform forecasts treatment outcomes, enabling personalized consultations and precision planning for follow-up care. These applications show how the company is translating its data reserves into direct clinical support, not just back-office analytics.

Choi, the newly appointed CAIO, said industries are entering a critical period of digital transformation. "By combining 365mc's unmatched expertise and data in fat treatment with the power of AI, we believe we can present a globally unprecedented model of a smart medical group," Choi said. "As CAIO, I will serve as a bridge between technology and clinical practice and devote my full efforts to establishing 365mc as a global benchmark for data-driven, customer-centered healthcare."
