Adobe and LinkedIn launch free AI curriculum for marketers
Adobe and LinkedIn launched a free AI curriculum for marketers, as only 4% have added AI skills to their profiles. The four courses are available in 47 languages.

Adobe and LinkedIn today launched a free AI skills curriculum for marketers at Cannes Lions 2026, with four role-based courses available in 47 languages. The initiative comes as LinkedIn Economic Graph data reveals that only 4% of marketers have added AI skills to their profiles, while demand for AI literacy in marketing job postings has more than doubled year-over-year - and AI skill growth among marketers rose 30% in the past six months.
"Only 4% of marketers around the world have added AI skills to their profiles, while product management (12%) and engineering (12%) are much higher," said Jessica Jensen, CMO of LinkedIn. The gap isn't from lack of interest - marketers rank AI skills as their top focus. But training built specifically for marketing workflows hasn't existed at scale, she added.
Most AI courses are either too technical, aimed at developers and data scientists, or too generic for general audiences. Marketers need training mapped to content creation, campaign optimization, and data analysis - the tasks they do every day.
Courses built around real marketing workflows
The curriculum launches with four courses: Digital Marketing; Content & Creative; Social & Communications; and Data & Analytics. Each is designed by asking what a marketer in that role does daily and how AI can improve it. Lessons cover AI-powered content creation, audience targeting, campaign optimization, and integrating data into agentic workflows. The format is short-form, social-first - five-minute tutorials rather than 40-hour commitments.
"AI isn't something you bolt onto the stack. It's changing what creativity, marketing, and strategy mean, and the marketer's relationship with their audience," said Rachel Thornton, CMO of Adobe's Enterprise business.
Free access and a living curriculum
The courses are free for the first 12 months on LinkedIn Learning, the LinkedIn feed, and Adobe Experience League. Marketers who complete them earn LinkedIn Learning certificates for their profiles. Adobe is also extending free product trials so those without current access can practice hands-on. The program will release new content throughout the year to keep pace with AI developments, and both companies are building a community where practitioners can share what's working.
Why this matters for marketers
The 4% figure underscores a real risk: marketers who don't build AI skills may fall behind as the profession shifts. AI for Marketing skills are no longer optional - they're appearing in twice as many job descriptions as a year ago. This initiative provides a direct, no-cost way to start closing that gap with training built for the role you actually have. For those who want to go deeper, structured learning paths like the AI Learning Path for Marketing Managers offer additional role-based guidance beyond the Adobe-LinkedIn courses.
