Agility PR Solutions launches MCP connector linking AI assistants to media intelligence data

Agility PR Solutions launched the Agility MCP Connector on August 18, 2026, extending its Media Intelligence API to AI assistants like Claude. The connector lets communications teams query their verified media coverage in plain language, without custom API development, and is now listed in the Claude Connector Directory.

The problem it solves is familiar to PR professionals: AI assistants answer from the open web, while the media monitoring data teams trust sits locked inside their intelligence platform. That split screen forces communicators to choose between convenience and reliable data. The connector closes the gap by giving assistants direct access to a client's Agility account through the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI tools to external data.

Two routes to the same media data

Agility's Media Intelligence API already gives teams programmatic access to structured coverage across online, print, broadcast, podcast, radio, and social media. Until now, working with that data meant building against the API and embedding it in dashboards or internal tools. The MCP Connector adds a second route to the same dataset: teams can still integrate the API into their own stack, or connect an AI assistant and put questions to coverage directly.

The underlying media intelligence is identical either way. What changes is the engineering effort required to reach it.

What the connector does

Once connected, communicators can search coverage in natural language, generate executive takeaways, analyze sentiment and trends, and compare brands or competitors. The assistant can also visualize insights such as sentiment, share of voice, and coverage over time.

Answers draw on Agility's verified, structured media data rather than open-web results. The connector works with Claude and other MCP-compatible assistants today. Getting started requires an Agility account with Media Intelligence API access and a compatible MCP client.

For professionals who want to understand the underlying technology, MCP Courses cover how the protocol works in practice. Those focused on the communications angle can find relevant training through AI for PR & Communications.

Built for work teams already use

"Our Media Intelligence API already delivers the media insights our clients run on. What they didn't have was a way to put questions to it in the places they're already working," said Martin Lyster, CEO of Agility PR Solutions. "This extends that data to Claude and other popular AI assistants, so when someone asks how sentiment shifted on a launch, the answer comes from verified media monitoring data rather than the open web."

Agility positions the connector for enterprise and government communications teams, in-house PR departments, and agencies. The company, founded in 2003, reports more than 2 billion licensed news items indexed annually and is recognized as a G2 Leader across multiple PR technology categories.

Why this matters for PR and communications professionals

The connector removes a practical bottleneck: communicators no longer need developers to extract answers from their monitoring data. A PR manager can ask an assistant how sentiment shifted on a product launch and get an answer grounded in indexed coverage, not search results. That distinction matters when the answer goes into a client report or an executive briefing. For teams already working in Claude or similar assistants, this puts their most defensible data directly in the conversation where decisions get made.
