BizTrip AI Hires Head of Product Strategy as Corporate Travel Platform Expands

BizTrip AI appointed Valerie Layman as Head of Product Strategy and Katherine Tomera as Director of Product Management, the company announced. The hires come as the San Francisco-based firm expands its AI platform for corporate travel.

Layman previously served as Chief Product Officer at BirchStreet Systems, where she oversaw product strategy for a cloud-based procure-to-pay platform used in hospitality. She also held the CPO role at Yapta, a travel price assurance company, and was Vice President of Product Management at Coupa Software.

In her new position, Layman will shape product vision and strategy while working with enterprise clients adopting AI-native approaches to travel management. Tom Romary, co-founder and CEO of BizTrip AI, said her experience across travel, procurement and enterprise software will support the company's plans to expand its proprietary Travel LLM and multi-agent AI platform.

Tomera, the new Director of Product Management, holds an engineering degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Wharton. Most recently, she worked as a Product Manager at EverBright in the cleantech sector.

BizTrip AI is developing capabilities to manage travel decisions involving policy, budget, supplier content, traveler preferences and payments in real time. Layman said the company is "not just iterating on legacy systems, but fundamentally rethinking how travel should work in an AI-driven world."
